Break Benefits

Today’s post is short. Almost too short to be worth posting. But I think this is something I need to say, and something someone may need to hear. Given how the past few weeks have gone, I need a break from writing. And that’s okay.

Life happens. Children are born. The family gets sick. School and jobs take more time and effort than usual. Someone passes away. For one reason or another, you’re drained mentally, emotionally, and physically. The thought of adding more work on yourself sounds exhausting.

It’s okay to take a break once in a while and recharge or catch up on everything else life’s thrown at you. Don’t make yourself worse off trying to do too much. Breathe. Rest. Focus on other important things. Your kids. Your family. Your health. Your writing will be waiting for you when you’re ready.

  1. So true, friend. Writing is supposed to be enjoyable or even therapeutic. It’s not supposed to be another chore on an already overflowing To-Do list. Take care of yourself.
